Having founded SMBC 20 years ago, Sam moved to Christchurch from Wanaka to pursue his passion for high-end renovations and architectural builds. A strong believer in getting out exactly what you put in, Sam loves a challenge, and this is reflected in the direction he’s taken the company; starting out on smaller renovations and progressing to the developments and houses we build today.

Leading a small, boutique building company he loves the ability to work closely with clients, trades and professional consultants alike, planning projects to minute detail. It's evident in his work, and his reputation in the Central Lakes and Canterbury regions speaks for itself.

Having developed his passion for well-designed and thought out homes over the 13 years he’s been building, it’s in the last eight with SMBC that he’s been able to develop and refine his skills as an architectural builder.

While living in Europe for most of his 20s, Sam picked up an appreciation for architecture that led him to a career in building. Now settled back in Christchurch, everything fell into place with SMBC, allowing him to pursue his passion for more detailed construction with a group of like-minded professionals.
